BLOG TOUR + GIVEAWAY ~Twisted Together by Pepper Winters~

Title: Twisted Together
Author: Pepper Winters
Series: Monsters in the Dark #3
Release Date: June 3, 2014

My Rating: 5+ Stars
"After battling through hell, I brought my esclave back from the brink of ruin. I sacrificed everything--my heart, my mind, my very desires to bring her back to life. And for a while, I thought it broke me, that I'd never be the same. But slowly the beast is growing bolder, and it's finally time to show Tess how beautiful the dark can be."

Q gave everything to bring Tess back. In return, he expects nothing less. Tess may have leashed and tamed him, but he's still a monster inside.

After surviving the darkness, a new dawn has begun. Twisted Together wades through black to grey, chasing the light of true love to banish the shadows forever.

Pain is a requirement, connection a necessity. But ultimately Q and Tess must face their demons, before they can embrace their future.

I still need time to recuperate from this book. Without fail Ms. Winters blew my ever loving mind AGAIN! With Q and Tess and their trials, struggles, and heartache. It was utterly overwhelming. This is a dark, very dark, erotic romance. BUT there are those moments where Tess and Q just are. They're simply a couple in love. Those moments make any uneasiness you would ever feel while reading this series seem inconsequential. This book is everything. It puts me out of my comfort zone, forces me into a nitty gritty relationship. Most of all, it takes me out of my own head and thoughts and pushes me into Tess' and Q's. Which in my opinion is the ultimate achievement of the best books out there.

Q and Tess are back. They're home. No one is chasing them. The monsters are gone... except their own. The will fight, relive, rehash, love and do just about anything to exorcise the demons that have taken Tess away. She may be there physically, but mentally she can't do it. She can't be what Q needs, or what she, herself, needs. From broken and battered to whole and alive. These two continue on this screwy journey. They've never been whole at the same time. They'll learn to rid their lives of obstacles and not stand in their own way of happiness. It's trial and error. Neither knows what will work. And that's where you hit mid way through the book. Then it's a whole new ball game. If it were possible for me to love these characters even more it happens in the last half of this book. They become one. Q and Tess will be faced with yet another trial, but this one... Well this one may just not have the happy ending we all wanted it to.

This book is hard for me to describe in words. I tried. All I can say is "You just have to read it." It won't be easy, but it will damn sure be worth it. The ultimate escape with the best characters and the most twisted, yet fulfilling storyline. Ms. Winters will make you work for it. She gives zero excuses for Q and Tess. They are who they are. No changing them or making miraculous last minute turnabouts. I don't think I've ever read a couple that was more deserving of a HEA. Of course, back on that twisty note, you never know what Ms. Winters will lay out for her characters. Will it end leaving you satisfied, dumbfounded, or in complete awe of Q and Tess' love? That's for you to find out. This is one ending I refuse to spoil. All I can say is every thing felt right and at peace. I beg of you pick up this series, or book if you're all caught up. It's definitely one for my book shelf, and lord knows there's limited space on there by now :)

Happy Reading!

COVER REVEAL ~Dirty Angels by Karina Halle~

Title: Dirty Angels
Author: Karina Halle
Series: Dirty Angels #1
Release Date: Spring/Summer 2014
For Luisa Chavez, a twenty-three year old former beauty queen, a better life has always been just out of her reach. Sure, she's had men at her feet since she was a young teenager but she's never had the one thing she's craved - security. Having grown up in near poverty, her waitressing job in Cabo San Lucas can barely let her take care of herself, let alone her ailing parents. Every day is another unwanted advance, every day is a struggle to survive.

When Salvador Reyes, the depraved leader of a major Mexican cartel, takes an interest in her, Luisa is presented with an opportunity she can't afford to pass up. She'll become Salvador's wife and exchange her freedom and body for a life of riches - riches she can bestow upon her deserving parents. But Luisa quickly finds out that even the finest wines and jewels can't undo the ugliness in her marriage, nor the never-ending violence that threatens her every move.

Soon, Luisa is looking for an escape, a way out of the carefully controlled life she's leading. She finally gets her wish in the worst way possible.

As it is, being the wife of Salvador makes her an ideal target for rival cartels and there's one particular man who needs Luisa as part of his cartel's expansion. One particular man whose quest for power has destroyed lives, slit throats and gotten him out of an American prison. One particular man who will stop at nothing until he gets what he wants.

That man is Javier Bernal. And he wants Luisa. He wants to take her, keep her, ruin her.

Unless she ruins him first.

***WARNING*** This book deals with drug cartels and as such it contains a lot of sex and violence and some violent sex. It can get pretty ugly, pretty dark and pretty crazy. There is drug use, abuse, a bit of torture and dubious consent. The hero is not a hero and the villains...well, they're even worse. If this sort of thing bothers you, please do not read. This ain't no cupcake farting unicorn kind of book***
There was a strange moment of silence and I concentrated hard, trying to hear more than the obvious. They were all waiting. Waiting for the order. Waiting for the man in charge to speak.

He did.

It came from the left of me. His voice was cool, calm and collected. I didn’t have to see to know who had taken me. The man I’d heard so much about. The man I’d been taught to fear.

“Gentleman,” he said and I could almost feel his infamous eyes on my body, “remove the bag.”

There was a rustle and my face was immediately met with cool air that seized my lungs and bright lights that blinded me. I scrunched up my face, afraid to look, to see. Now it was all so real and I wanted to stay in the dark.

“Who did this?”

Suddenly cool hands were at my swollen cheek and I flinched.

“Who did this?” my captor repeated, an edge to his level voice, his cigar-laced breath on my face.

“Sorry,” Franco mumbled. “It was the only way to quiet her.”

A heavy pause filled the room like deadweight. Finally the fingers came away from my skin and my body relaxed momentarily. I felt the man stand in front of me, bending over so he was in my face, the spicy scent of tea and tobacco emanating off of him.

“Look at me Luisa Reyes.”

Chavez, I thought to myself, I will always be Luisa Chavez.

“Darling, aren’t you curious to where you are?”

“My name is Luisa Chavez,” I said. I opened my eyes to see golden ones staring right back at me. It was like looking at an eagle. “And I know where I am. I know who you are. You are Javier Bernal.”

He raised his brow in amusement and nodded. I’d seen his picture before, on the news. There was only one and that was his mugshot but even in that photo, his eyes made an impression on you. They saw right into your depths and made you question yourself. He was one of the men whom Salvador feared, even though Salvador had more power. He was the one I had been told to watch out for, the supposed reason why I’d always been locked in the compound or escorted by the local police to go shopping.

And yet here I was, tied to a chair in a cold, leaking basement with nothing in it except five cartel members, a video camera and a knife that lay on top of a stool in front of me.

All of that for nothing. I could escape Salvador but I could never escape the cartels.

I had asked for this fate.

“You know why you’re here,” Javier said with deliberation, straightening up in his sharp black suit. He walked over to the stool, swiping up the knife, and glancing at me over his shoulder. “Don’t you?”

I could only breathe. I wanted to look at the others, at Este, at Franco, at the two other mystery men, but I was frozen in his gaze like a cow in headlights.

“What is the knife for?” I asked, my throat painfully dry.

“You’ll find out after,” he said. “It is for your husband. For your Salvador.” He stepped to the side and waved his arm at the camera. “And this is also for him.”

He eyed someone over my shoulder and gave a sharp nod. I heard a rip from behind and a piece of duct tape was placed over my mouth. I squirmed helplessly and the lights in the basement dimmed. The men stepped to the side while Javier went behind the video camera. A white light came off the front of it and bathed me in an eerie glow.

Javier cleared his throat, his face covered in shadow and said loudly, projecting to the camera, “This is Luiza Reyes, former beauty queen of the Baja State and property of Salvador Reyes. Salvador, we have your wife and we have a long list of demands, demands which I know you can meet. I expect full cooperation in this matter, or she dies in the next seven days. If she’s lucky. I’ll give you some time to think about what you’re willing to give up for her. Then we’ll be contacting you. Good bye.”

The light on the camera switched off but the rest of the room remained dim.

“I hope your husband checks his emails often. It would be a shame to have to put this on YouTube.”

There was a smirk on his face at that as he slowly walked toward me, the knife glinting in his hand. His eyes burned through the shadows, then grew somber.

He held up the knife. “I think it’s only going to hurt the first time.”

My eyes focused on the silver of the blade but the terror inside me grew too strong and my urge to breathe through the duct tape became too difficult. My lungs seized in panic, pulsing dots appeared in my vision. I felt a hand on my collarbone, gripping the edge of my blouse and then everything went black.

RELEASE BLITZ ~Destroyed by Pepper Winters~

Title: Destroyed
Author: Pepper Winters
Release Date: March 7, 2014
She has a secret.

I’m complicated. Not broken or ruined or running from a past I can’t face. Just complicated.

I thought my life couldn’t get any more tangled in deceit and confusion. But I hadn’t met him. I hadn't realized how far I could fall or what I'd do to get free.

He has a secret.

I’ve never pretended to be good or deserving. I chase who I want, do what I want, act how I want.

I didn’t have time to lust after a woman I had no right to lust after. I told myself to shut up and stay hidden. But then she tried to run. I’d tasted what she could offer me and damned if I would let her go.

One secret destroys them.

Raising my eyes to lock with hers, I murmured, “I want to lick you.”

Her eyes flared wide; her toned tummy tightened.

When she didn’t move, I cocked my head. “Let me taste you and I’ll gladly let you touch my back. But I’m not going anywhere until you obey me. Come here.”

She shook her head, a blush covering her cheeks. “I can’t. How would you—”

Logistics seemed simple to me. “You have to sit on my face, Zel.” I couldn’t stop the small smile and the thrill in my stomach at the thought of her presenting herself to me. She’d have to willing expose herself and hold herself in place while I pleasured her.

“Move. Now. I won’t ask again.” –ROAN

REVIEW ~Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan~

Title: Undeniable
Author: Madeline Sheehan
Series: Undeniable #1
Release Date: October 7, 2012

My Rating: 5+ Heartbreaking Stars
Warning: This is not a "typical love story". This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It’s intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn’t happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops—with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache—over the span of a lifetime.

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows. When she’s a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy, biker bad-ass of the Hell’s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club—but that’s where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself—a man worthy of love—and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can’t live without.

This is Eva and Deuce’s story.

It wasn’t easy.
Nothing worth doing ever is.
And love is worth everything.

I don't know why I never learn. MC books have always been my downfall. As in, they put in a book slump, make me ugly cry, and give me the biggest book hangovers ever. I have no earthly idea why. Why do bad ass men on bikes, who are usually the biggest jerks have such an affect on me?!?! I can't answer that. What I can do is, tell you that Undeniable achieved all of that, in triplicate. I have never been so torn about a book before. I hated it, yet I loved it so hard. It is an exquisite story, that broke my heart. But it also pieced it back together a little bit at the end. I spent the 24 hours after I finished this book reeling. I have to warn you, heed that warning at the beginning of the synopsis because Undeniable is all of those things and more.

Eva and Duece were meant to be together. The heartache and torture they had to go through to get there is highly commendable and wounded me to a point where I almost walked away from the book. It gets graphic, it gets real, and it is by no means a fairy tale. I couldn't walk away though. I was to enraptured by their story to not see them to their ending. Undeniable, is told over a span of several years. Ms. Sheehan jumps time in order to give her readers the best, worst, and terrible of Eva and Deuce's relationship. If you think you're going to catch a break in this book, emotionally, you are sorely mistaken. Ms. Sheehan took a  death grip to my heart in the first pages and still hasn't let up. At some point, I experienced hate, resentment, love and sympathy for all of the characters. Even the villains had a tug on my heartstrings at some point. Throughout Eva and Deuce's relationship they are thrown every curveball, and every horrible thing that could happen, does. It is one of those books that had me completely entranced the entire time, hence why I couldn't put it down.

I've never read a book so tragic, yet beautiful. I rooted for Eva and Deuce until, at one point I thought it might be easier for everyone if they called it quits. But Romeo and Juliet have nothing on these two. Whether in life or death, happy or miserable, they were destined for one another. The events that transpire in this book absolutely blew my mind. It is a road that you can't even begin to imagine until you read it yourself. I may be a masochist but, I loved this book. Yeah, it gets sad and uncomfortable. But if an author has me completely forgoing sleep, even when I have work the next day, something about this book is phenomenal, and inexplicably wonderful. Ms. Sheehan is quite simply a genius where her writing is concerned. That being said, I will be taking a couple weeks before I dive into the next book... I don't think my heart could take it :)

Happy Reading!
