REVIEW ~Listen to Me by Kristen Proby~

Title: Listen to Me
Author: Kristen Proby
Series: Fusion #1
Release Date: April 12, 2016
In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby’s brand new series, five best friends open a hot new restaurant, but one of them gets much more than she bargained for when a sexy former rock star walks through the doors—and into her heart.

Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim 1/5 of the credit. She’s determined to make it a success and can’t think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she’s in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school—he’s all bad boy...exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need.

Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what’s always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed. Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake’s past finally catches up with him.

Will Addie be torn apart once again or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?
I will be the first to admit that this book is different from Kristen Proby's other books. How exactly? I can't quite put my finger on it. Though, I think at the end of the day it had a more realistic tinge to it. And the romance between Addison Jake was not necessarily effortless, but again real, and tangible. It resonated more with my on a reader level. Though don't mistake me I am a MASSIVE fan of ALL of her books. This one was just different in the reality sense, I an enjoyed that part quite a bit.

This book offers fun, angst, an enticing story and an amazingly sexy relationship between the two main characters. Though they both have their hang ups about relationships and life in general, they're both making changes for the better when they cross paths. And in each other they find everything they didn't know they needed, and don't think they deserve. And while the romance is a the forefront of this story, what add more depth is Proby's signature secondary characters that are sneaky heart-stealers. Honestly the group of girls that work with Addison have cemented themselves in my brain with their little nuances. They each revealed slivers of how their story will go, and each one holds a unique story in front of her that I am dying to delve into.

But back to Jake and Addison... they were a joy to read, and I do so hope to visit them again in the future books of this series. If you're looking for a terrific, sinful, funny read please look no further. Ms. Proby has wow-ed once again with her unfailing ability to write what I call a perfect novel and one that I will set on my keeper shelf!

RELEASE DAY REVIEW ~Ladies Man by Katy Evans~

Title: Ladies Man
Author: Katy Evans
Series: Manwhore #3 (standalone book!)
Release Date: April 26, 2016
He’s not the guy you date.
He’s the one night stand.
You’d think this man who sent hot looks my way, who called me succulent, would want to strip me bare and spread me out on his bed like every other woman in Chicago.
Except, he passed on my offer….
Just like I once passed on his.
He’s wary, like I am.
He’s broken, like I am.
And everyone knows two broken parts can’t ever make a whole.
So I try to distract myself with dating.
Tahoe and I are strictly friends. He doesn’t think my new beau is good enough—he doesn't think any man is, especially himself.
The more time Tahoe and I spend together, the more confused I feel.
I'm trying to open up to love.
But I'm quickly realizing that the only man I want is the stubborn, cocky, unattainable playboy Tahoe Roth.
The one my mother warned me about.
The one my body craves.
The only one who will surely break my heart.

#LadiesMan
Be forewarned Ladies Man is not your normal Katy Evans book. She has added a whole new element to this book that will wow and entice her readers. It was definitely not what I was expecting. But that's why the author gets to write. They know the characters and the know what works. Katy Evans delivered everything I didn't know I wanted and needed in Tahoe's book. The title actually plays into a quite quippy antithesis to this book by the end and it's very refreshing to see a so much emotion, intensity and love (both friendly and romantic) played out the way it did. In doing so, Ms. Evans has made a standout book. She put everything we wanted just out of reach until I was just screaming "Get on with it already" but the wait was SO well worth it.

Tahoe and Gina are first and foremost, friends. For specific reasons on each side they don't know that it's worth it, or even workable, to move beyond that. Yet, the chemistry that is constantly simmering beneath every interaction tells an entirely different story. However, this book is all about the right time. The right understanding. And the acceptance that if they are right for each other, they'll be there at the end of every single day for one another until the time is right.

This book will stick with me. I can tell you that right now. I almost feel like their story isn't finished. Like I need more of it. But that's not to say that the ending wasn't more than satisfying, because it was, but theirs is a story I could read about for years and probably never get tired of. There is so much that was explored, and that's where this book gets a #winning. You experience every aspect of what Tahoe and Gina's relationship WILL be like with them not actually in one for the better part of the book. You get the feels, the comfort, the being there, the sparks, the everything. So there's no doubt that it will work out, and I think that's an incredibly inventive way to present this story. The friendship that they have throughout is something that most would kill for. They are each other's concrete. I'm sure I'm babbling and not making near enough sense, but just read the damn book. Nothing and no one will be able to appropriately prepare for what you'll read, but that's what makes it a fantastic book. I can't put my finger on it, but it's got a spot on my keeper shelf .

Happy Reading!

NEW RELEASE REVIEW ~Dirty by Kylie Scott~

Title: Dirty
Author: Kylie Scott
Series: Diver Bar #1
Release Date: April 19, 2016

My Rating: 5 Stars!
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

This book is was breath of fresh air! I am always completely amazing by Ms. Scott's ability to create such endearing and quirky, out-of-the-box characters. Dirty may have upped the ante a bit though. Lydia and Vaughan met on her wedding day, but to be more clear, a day she was supposed to wed a DIFFERENT man. And such as it goes the perfect people found each other at the most inopportune time. But is there really an inopportune time to make a new best friend that has become your savior, and is quickly becoming the other half to your closed-off whole? I don't think there is. And while Lydia and Vaughan may have been hell bent to go on as previously planned before that well-fated shower scene the heart gets what is wants or it makes you beg for mercy until it does.

This was such a fun read. Packed with some intensely high heat and attraction and even more of a gripping story. This isn't just a romance for romance sake. This is a world-building novel that will make you fall in love with almost every character presented (sans for the ex-groom-to-be and his family the a=holes) and want to know so much more about where everyone is going. Though Lydia and Vaughan take front and center the secondary characters steal the spotlight from time to time, and the second story line made my heart ache for how it will be resolved.  Yet, in the end you have Lydia and Vaughan faced with the decision to be stubborn and follow their dreams, or realize that there are other, and even greater, dreams left to be had if you open up your mind and heart a little bit.

This story wowed me and gripped me. I will definitely be tuning into the rest of the series!

Happy Reading!
