REVIEW ~Forever With You by Laurelin Paige~

Title: Forever With You
Author: Laurelin Paige
Series: Fixed #3
Release Date: January 13, 2014

My Rating: 4.5 Stars
Alayna Withers relationship with Hudson Pierce has tested both her and his ability to trust. They decide that the only way they can move forward together is with open doors and transparency. It won’t be easy for the scarred lovers, but they’re committed to each other more now than ever. Alayna, in particular, has grown through their trials, and has emerged more confident and faithful to the man she loves.

But while the pair is focused on the future, their past shows up again to threaten their fragile bond. Promises that were made are broken, and Alayna learns that Hudson still has very potent secrets—secrets that will tear them both apart. As much as she feels for him, her ability to forgive and forget is tested beyond her limits.

Even though she found the only man who could fix her, a forever with Hudson seems more and more out of reach.
Words cannot express how much I love this series. Forever With You was the cherry on top of my favorite cake. It had anguish, heartbreak, love, the hottest sex, and everything in between. If you've met Alayna and Hudson before you know how hot and cold they can run. Their emotions are like a hormonal, PMSing teenager without access to chocolate. It can be bad. But the great thing? I was right there along with them. This book made my emotions go haywire. I laughed, I raged, I swooned, I was reduced to blubbering nonsense on a few occasions. But, I loved it. I almost felt like I was inheriting Laynie's obsessive tendencies while I was reading it. I would be paranoid before she was, and my mind would wander to the most outrageous ideas. That's how Laurelin Paige gets you though. She got me in this mindset that had me double guessing everything and then she throws something out there that I wasn't expecting and completely shatters my fictional reality (Oxymoron but, you know what I mean.. right?).

"Because you're asking me to give up so much of who I am in order for you to keep your secrets, and that will tear me apart."
~Alayna

Forever With You picks up more or less right after the second book. After the devastating events that caused their trust to be tested, Alayna and Hudson must find a way to move past it. But, something is always in their way and threatening to tear them apart. When an opportunity presents itself, Alayna will have to make a choice. Trust Hudson implicitly or let that little voice inside her head win. I always feel so much for Alayna because she does have her obsessions but, when everyone around her lies and deceives her at every chance it's hard for her to really start living as a functional person when the rug could be swept out from underneath her. Yes, her mind does tend to magnify the problem but, people like Celia, Stacy, and even Hudson don't help matters. Yes, I know they love each other and are too frigging adorable together but, his destructive tendencies are her kryptonite. And if they both don't tone down their harmful aspects in tandem, they may destroy each other.

"Obligated or not, I did still love him. If I didn't, then I wouldn't feel this way. Every molecule in my body wouldn't be consumed in despair. That was the joke of the whole thing- I'd kept my promise. I did still love him through this horrible fucked up thing he'd done to me."
~Alayna

Forever With You brings out the worst in Hudson and Alayna and eventually the best too. I wasn't able to pick a side when all hell broke loose. I could see where everyone (except that evil biatch, Celia) was coming from. I didn't know whose stubbornness would win out. Until the very end it was anybody's guess of how this series would end. I have to say I'm thrilled with the route this book took. Laurelin Paige didn't make it a nice, neat, rainbows and butterflies story. Alayna and Hudson have to work for it, or they'll never be able to work long term. With secrets and emotions flying high, I didn't know which way to look for the next answer. Forever With You kept me guessing, hoping and fanning myself the entire time. This series will definitely be on my re-read shelf for months, if not years, to come. I can relate to both Hudson and Alayna on every level. Crazy, loving, basic, you name it and I just completely understand these characters and feel every emotion they put out there. I love that. I can usually relate to one of the characters but, to be able to relate to both especially when it's only the in the heroine's POV? You know the author is doing something incredibly brilliant. End of story? Go buy this book... now. It is already helping top off my must reads of this year, and I'm positive it'll stay there too :)

Happy Reading!

Meet Laurelin:
USA Today Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She is represented by the wonderful Bob Diforio of D4EO Literary Agency.
