What Tessa experienced and went through during her and Rowan's story, is massively different than what he went through, and how they both perceived the other's journey as well. And somewhere in the middle of everything is the truth, the compromise, the understanding. Everything that Tessa and Rowan weren't brought up to give into, and weren't ready accept in the first book.
