EXCERPT TOUR + GIVEAWAY~Rumor by Skye Jordan~

Title: Rumor
Author: Skye Jordan
Series: Renegades #3.5
Release Date: November 4, 2014

My Rating: 4.5 Stars!
Former Navy SEAL Josh Marx thinks he has it all figured out. He’s living the bachelor lifestyle in southern California, running risk assessment for the Renegades, but most importantly, he’s finally gotten over the unrequited love he’s harbored for his former teammate’s ex wife. Then his buddy calls from overseas, worried because he hasn’t heard from his ex, and asks Josh to check in on her. Josh doesn’t want to get involved, but the same code that urged him to walk away in the first place is suddenly pushing him to change his Christmas plans.

Grace Ashby doesn't appreciate the sexy SEAL trying to step in and take over. He thinks she’s hit rock bottom by working at a strip club, but she knows differently. She could set him straight, but he’s already rejected her once, and she doesn’t need one more man judging her.

She tells him to butt out of her business and her life. But Josh’s conscience won’t let him walk away this time.
Josh turned to face a tiny woman with big brown eyes—and big, bouncy tits, barely covered in a green velvet halter. She, too, wore a Santa-style hat, this one green to match the elf getup, sporting a big fluffy white fur ball at the point. She caressed the sleeve of Josh’s sport jacket with one hand, the other holding an empty tray against her hip.

“I’m Stephie.” She tipped her head and looked up at him through thick, black lashes, heavily coated with mascara. “Why don’t you buy me a drink while we get acquainted?”

A heavy, powdery scent wafted off of her, along with her body heat. His nerve endings seemed to spread along the surface of his skin and sing to attention. Which meant, yeah, definitely too little sex in way too long, because she wasn’t his type at all.

“Actually,” he pulled a twenty from his pocket. “I’d appreciate it if you could point out Nicole for me.”

Her eyes lowered to the bill, then returned to his, a sly little smile on her lips. She slipped the twenty from Josh’s fingers with an enthusiastic, “Easiest twenty I’ve made all night.” She turned and pointed toward a shadowed corner where a group of rowdy younger men sat near the stage. A woman stood between two chairs, her back facing Josh. She was leaning forward, her hands braced on the men’s shoulders.

She wore a one-shouldered, skintight black dress that clung to every luscious curve and barely covered her ass. Tanned legs stretched long and lean beneath the hem, made even longer—and sexier—by the sparkling spiked heels she wore. One side of the dress had diamond-shaped cutouts, showing a nice amount of evenly tanned skin all along her body, right down to her hip. The fabric gathered and was held together with clear rhinestones down her side. There was no way she was wearing anything underneath.

Josh didn’t recognize her as Grace. This woman had copper colored hair, falling in curls to the middle of her back. Right color—wrong length. And Grace had always been thin, with a more boyish straight-up-and-down figure. Josh would have noticed curves like those.

Wouldn’t he?

“In the black,” Stephie said. “Nicole. That’s who you’re looking for, right?”

“Don’t think that’s her,” he told Stephie. “But thanks.”

“Can I get you a drink?”

“Yes, please. Jack and Coke. Double would be good.”

“Be right back.”

He took off his blazer, tossed it over the back of the chair and rolled up his sleeves before sitting, his eyes locked on the woman in black, waiting for a glimpse of her face. But his peripheral vision was picking up the brazenly erotic moves on the stage, and combined with the music, the lyrics, and the atmosphere, Josh’s body was definitely responding. His cock had grown thick and the confinement of his slacks added pressure along his length. His heart was beating too fast, his body was too hot, his throat too tight.

I really and truly love this series. Right away I could tell that Rumor was going to affect me the same way the previous books had. To be honest, I didn't really love Josh in Ricochet. However, I've repented and he has absolutely won my heart now! I guess since I didn't get his point of view and story in the previous book I didn't really know him. In Rumor, you will finish having no doubt that Josh Marx is a man among men and one of the best types of guys. Grace, well, she is that woman we all hate because she's just too good. Yet, she takes zero s-it from Josh, or anyone for that matter.

Their story is one of once forbidden love. Said forbidding came from the fact that Grace used to be married to Josh's former SEAL teammate. When an injury forced Josh back into life stateside he gets dragged down into an all work and no play reality until his buddy calls worried about his ex. The same ex that Josh has had a fair few fantasies about long before the divorce papers were signed. When he finds Grace living the less than perfect life he last saw her in warning signs fly up and he's rushing to save the day. But Grace doesn't want to be saved. And definitely not by the man that's she's loved for years without returned feelings, and who went MIA on her a year ago.

You know how I told you Josh was the best of the best? Well he sure let his colors shine after Grace put him in his place. He stopped trying to change her and instead helped her make the best of her situation. And let's not forget that these two can't even be in the same room without combusting. It wasn't too long before their passion won out over his sense of duty to his friend, and her fear that Josh would leave soon.

First off, the subject may be a precarious one for some, but the reasoning and characteristics of those involved really come to light and I had zero issue with Grace and Josh striking up a forever romance. Josh is just amazing. He's such a great, realistic guy with the charisma ladies love. Meanwhile, Grace is hell bent on making it on her own, and she does. She's a tough cookie that inspires. Their banter is flawless. Their sexual escapades are hotter than hades. And their love is just oozing sweetness and passion. This book really struck a chord emotionally as well. I don't want to ruin it, so you'll just have to read it, but let it be known I'll be keeping this on my re-read shelf for a feel-good quickie every once and a while. All in all, a fantastic addition to the Renegades series!

Happy Reading!

Meet Skye:
Skye Jordan is a pseudonym for New York Times bestselling romantic suspense author Joan Swan. Skye’s novels are about enjoying that little wild streak we don’t let out often enough. About those fantasies we rarely get the opportunity to indulge. About stretching limits, checking out the dark side, and maybe even acting a little naughty. They’re about escape and fun and pleasure and romance.

And, yes, even love, because while wicked-great sex is good, happily ever after with wicked-great sex is even better. Skye (aka Joan) lives on the central coast of California in the heart of wine country with her husband and two daughters. As often as possible, she retreats to a hotel with critique partners for a power-writing week where much drinking, laughing, and yes, even working, ensues. When she’s not writing, Skye goes to breakfast with her hubby, attends her daughters’ barrel races, and spends a lot of time with her own horse, Riddle…while her two dogs, Paxton and Indie, tag along. She also loves to read, knit, craft, row, ride, and dabble in photography.

EXCERPT TOUR + REVIEW + 2 GIVEAWAYS~Ricochet by Skye Jordan~

Title: Ricochet
Author: Skye Jordan
Series: Renegades #3
Release Date: July 14, 2014

My Rating: 5 STARS!!
After a tragic incident in Afghanistan leaves Master Sergeant Nathan Ryker the only man standing in his tight-knit team, he spirals into an alcohol-and-sex induced escape. A call from his lifelong buddy pulls Ryker from the shadows with a request for help with his stunt company’s latest blockbuster. If Ryker can survive the next three weeks of leave and get back to his remaining men, he might just be all right. But a sexy woman who can take his mind off his trauma is too hard to resist, and when he hooks up with Renegades’ sultry, snarky office manager, his sanity takes a backseat to his first glimpse of a future he isn’t sure he deserves.

Still reeling from a bitter romantic betrayal, Rachel Hart wants nothing more than an uncomplicated hookup. So when the mysterious Nathan seduces her with a little dirty talk and one delicious kiss, Rachel drowns all her good sense in a Mandarin and soda and gives herself over to a night of sexual bliss. But her memories tarnish in the morning light when Rachel discovers his real identity and his link to Renegades. Her job and her friends are the only thing holding her life together, and she won’t be ruined by one sultry night with this damaged and dangerously sexy man.
Ryker sipped his Rockstar, trying like hell to keep his mind in the moment. Seeing her again just made his thoughts travel backward to relive their night together moment by luscious, mind-blowing moment.

His gaze roamed over her again, over the simple white dress that framed her her narrow waist and the curve of her breasts. As a whole package, she was country-girl fresh and apple-pie sweet with a streak of Tonka-truck tough. Underneath, she hid a siren, a temptress, a woman who liked things edgy.

She fascinated him.

But he already missed the intimacy they’d developed last night. The easy way they’d talked and laughed together. The comfort of lying quietly while they caught their breath.

Yeah, he’d really fucked up good.

She returned to her desk, slid her glasses back on, and plucked a pencil from a Renegades coffee mug. Dragging a legal pad from beneath a stack of papers, she started writing. “Are you sure there’s no one but Josh?”

“I’m sure,” Jax said. “We could try another company, but I want to get Ryker past Precision. Cinematic prefers Precision.”

Rachel put two fingers against her temple with a sigh. “Everything needs to be seamless to make this work.”

Ryker’s brain slowly returned from a fantasy of Rachel on her knees, those librarian glasses still perched on her nose while she took his cock deep into her mouth. “Look, I’ll talk to you guys about anything you want. I’ll give advice. I’ll even hang around and watch, make sure everything is safe and kosher, but you sound like you’re—”

“Hear us out,” Troy said, annoyance clear in his voice. “I wouldn’t have brought you here if there wasn’t something in it for you.”

Reflexively, Ryker’s gaze darted back to Rachel. If she was the prize, he might reconsider…

“Not her.” Troy slapped Ryker on the back of the head. “Use that flabby muscle between your ears for a change.”

Ryker gritted his teeth and braced his forearms on his knees, glaring at Troy over his shoulder. “Do that again, and the gloves come off. And the brain is not a muscle, idiot. It’s an organ.”

“What-the-fuck-ever.”

“You should have told me what this was really about.”

“Gee,” Rachel said, “sounds like we’ve got a theme going.”

“Listen,” Jax said. “I’ll give you the scoop, you tell me if you’re interested. No pressure.”

“Criminy,” Rachel muttered, covering her eyes. “No. No pressure.”

Ryker didn’t understand where her pressure was coming from, but 50 percent of his was sitting beside him on the couch. Another 50 percent came from his desire to get closer to Rachel.

Okay, more like 10-90.

“Go,” he said, inviting Jax to talk with an open gesture.

“We’re finishing up the next Bond film, and the last scene—” Jax started.

“Bond?” he said. “As in—”

“James Bond,” everyone in the room said in unison. The question had obviously been asked before.

“Okay.” He shrugged. “Go on.”

“The last scene with big stunt work is the climax,” Jax said. “The script calls for a car racing across a bridge with Apache choppers in chase, Hellfire missiles raining down. Normally, we’d do all the explosives with computer graphics, but we’re under a really tight budget, and, I know it sounds crazy, but blowing up a real bridge is way less expensive.”

At some point during that explanation, Ryker’s jaw unhinged and his mouth hung open, his mind trying—and failing—to envision how anyone could possibly pull off the stunt they’d described.

“What we need is an explosives expert who can take down the bridge in the most cinematically dramatic way possible, while maintaining a safe environment for crew and location.”

“Wait…” Ryker glanced at each face and found Rachel tracing the eraser of her pencil over the wood-grain pattern on her desk. Then he met Jax’s gaze again. “This doesn’t sound like consulting.”

“It was when Troy first called you, but as I told Rachel, we just lost our blaster. We’d like you to take the lead on this. So.” Jax stretched out his legs and dropped one ankle over the other, just kicking back as if what he’d proposed was as simple as the rock climbing he’d been doing earlier. “What do you think?”

An absurd scrap of laughter huffed out of his mouth. “I think you’re all certifiably in-fucking-sane.”

Let's think back to my reviews of the previous Renegades novels... remember how I waxed poetic and I was all around thoroughly obnoxious about my love for them? Sad to say, that this review will be no different. In fact, I may just get a little sappy and a whole more obnoxious. This series keeps getting better and better. The emotions are heightened, the connections get deeper and the sex gets dirtier. And I fall a little bit more in love with each of the Renegades every time they open their smart mouths.

Ricochet centers around a brand new hero, in every sense of the word, Master Sergeant Nathan Ryker. He's back from overseas and in a bad way. Then he happens upon a hot little number while stranded at the airport. Said hot little number is none other than the Renegades' glue of their operations Rachel. She has been such a pistol all throughout the series and I'm so glad I was able to read her book. So they meet, identities were hidden, truths weren't divulged and the sex was had all over a hotel room. Yes, Ms. Jordan you have my full attention, continue. Of course, Rachel being the put together woman that she is has never indulged in this manner before an escapes before the awkward morning after can come to play. She chalks it up to a drunken endeavor and moves on. Until said sexy one-night stand shows up to do his buddy a favor. A buddy that just so happens to be Rachel's co-worker and best friend. Long, and fabulous story short, Nathan and Rachel are thrown together in the closest of quarters until their pasts come back to haunt them.

It's a game of ping pong with their relationship- it's just sex, it's more, it's ruined, etc. I just want them to be happy! But, Ms. Jordan makes you work for it. Rachel and Nathan are so good together and they can't even see it. They have preconceived notions about their lives at the moment and the other was not in their plans. Yet as their demons haunt them separately, they force them together. They find a comfort in one another that they've never been able to find anywhere else. It's funny, with this series I can't see the end coming. The author fully submerges me in the story and I refuse to poke my head out until I'm finished. Suffice it to say, Rachel and Nathan held my attention in lock position from beginning to end. Their emotions gutted me, their connection was envious, and their humor blended in perfectly. Ricochet delivered on the emotional turmoil without putting me in a deep dark hole, which I appreciate so much. I love a book that can weave the light and dark together so effortlessly. Not just with the story line, but with the characters too. Nathan would have his moments of hilarity and "aww"s among his moments of sadness and fear. While Rachel would have her sweet and endearing moments amidst moments of anger and disappointment. And when they would come together it was one big mindf--k but it was well worth it. I say this every time I read a book in the Renegades series, but I don't know how a series can get better than this. It truly felt like a breath of fresh air while I was reading it. It's new and exciting and a whole lot of sexy. Simply, all around wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend!!

Happy Reading!

BLOG TOUR + 2 GIVEAWAYS ~Rebel by Skye Jordan~

Title: Rebel
Author: Skye Jordan
Series: Renegades #2
Release Date: December 22, 2013

My Rating: 5 Stars!!
Sassy, smart, and sexy, former supermodel-turned-tech guru Rubi Russo has it all—looks, money, confidence and freedom. Her life is a whirlwind of fast cars and fleeting affairs—and she likes it that way. With a past like Rubi’s, forever isn’t part of her vocabulary. So when studly Renegade stuntman Wes Lawson wants to take their friendship to the next level, she’s all out.

Raised a simple country-boy, Wes knows the brazen Rubi isn’t his type. But after spending time with her, he discovers she’s everything he’s ever wanted in a woman. To win her wild rebel heart, he’ll have to prove he sees behind her smokescreen to all the goodness she tries to hide. Then it's just a matter of crushing her fears, shattering her barriers, and convincing her that loving him is everything she’s been missing in her life, too.

Piece of cake.
If you saw my review of Reckless, you know that I fell head over heels in love with the Renegades. In Reckless we got glimpses of Wes and Rubi's flirtatious nature and I was instantly intrigued. Well... Rebel upped the game in the Renegades series and absolutely blew me away. As in, if I had jumped on the bandwagon to name my favorite books of 2013, Rebel would have made it in the top 10. Easily. Rebel solidified this series as strangely unique and mind blowing. Skye Jordan wraps up freaking hot chemistry with an intellectually stimulating story and throws in continuous laugh out loud moments in one amazing little package.

"God, he loved making her laugh. Making her happy. It had become his primary daily focus. And the thought of holding her all night, his body tangled with hers, sounded like absolute ecstasy."
~Wes

When we catch up to the Renegades, Rubi and Wes have become best friends but, with a quirky dynamic. They are not above flirting to that dangerous edge that separates friends from lovers. But, that's as far as Rubi will let it go. With no basis for having a functional and long-lived relationship she refuses to muddle up what she has with Wes. Losing him would devastate her more than anything. Wes, however, is a head-strong country man who can't give up on trying to push for more when he know they would be combustible together. With neither one willing to back down it is a push and pull game that will drive you crazy until it makes you fan yourself, because when these two give in... it's hotter than hell. Aside from the raunchy, orgasmic bliss Rubi and Wes find in one another they have also found another common ground. Rubi is a genius when it comes to technology and Wes, a genius when it comes to engineering. So they put their heads together to come up with a solution for Wes' brother who has just underwent surgery and may have trouble walking again. Along the way, they end up meeting each other's family and see just how different they were raised. It is a constant battle for Wes to convince Rubi they could have a future together, and a heartbreaking journey for Rubi to come to accept that.

"I want to lick you. I want to eat you. I want to fuck you with my tongue. So good. It would be so good."
~Wes

Rebel is one of those books that's worthy of sitting on my bookshelf as well as my ereader. The overall concept may have been told before but, the real meat of the story is refreshing and completely captivating. I read this book in two sittings, only because my family made me put it down on Christmas :) Wes stole my heart with his charm and dirty mouth. And Rubi had me has her "Yeah! girl" from the first page. They both show so much passion and love but, still have a perfect blend of quippy remarks and real emotions, as well. Skye Jordan weaves an irresistibly seductive web around her readers and there will be no denying your love for this book or its characters. Rebel is a must read for anyone who loves a fantastically written, steamy and engaging story!

Sometimes fun, sometimes naughty. Always romantic.

I am a NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author writing under the pseudonym Skye Jordan for my more … sexually heated … works.

My Skye Jordan novels are all about enjoying that little wild streak we all have, but probably don’t let out often enough. About those fantasies we usually don’t get the opportunity to indulge. About stretching limits, checking out the dark side, playing naughty and maybe even acting a little wicked. They’re about escape and fun and pleasure and romance.

And, yes, even love. Because even as Skye Jordan I’m just a happily ever after kinda gal. (Or, in some cases, happily for the foreseeable future.)
