Words cannot explain how much I. FREAKING. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. Harper Sloan is known for her over-the-top alphas and incredibly sexy couples, but Unconscious Hearts takes those elements and steps them up more than a few notches. Thorn and Ari both have tortured pasts. Tortured pasts, that as I learned exactly what their pasts hold cracked my heart even more, and the final revelations just about shattered my heart. These two are so innately meant for one another, it was more than a pleasure to read their story. They are obsessed with each other, and I was overtly obsessed with them! I needed MORE. MORE. MORE.
Unconscious Hearts is a hefty read. It's packed with emotions that I felt so vehemently, but just as the characters experienced major emotional blows, so did I. The unexpected punches, the overwhelming love (and let's be honest lust, because these two are HOT <-- understatement of the year. Scorching may be a better term. Or something even hotter.), and even quippy moments that offered a much-needed moment of hilarity amongst the moments of grief, or even moment of intense connection. Everything was just so heightened in this story. I was enveloped in every good character's story and well-being and loved every single one of them. And while Torn and Ari are center stage, there are four outlying characters, two couple, that I became so invested in, I cannot wait to (hopefully) get their books!!
I'll leave you with this: Air and Thorn are my OTP right now. Their stories, their hearts, their obsessive love has set a high mark for me this year, and Harper Sloan has surely outdone herself where this book is concerned. The sex, the characters, THE STORY (it's mega-twisty) are sublimely perfect! And to that end, I demand everyone devour this book ASAP. It's well-worth it.
PS: The epilogues for Unconscious Hearts are the BEST EVER. Hands down. No contest.
