Author: Maya Hughes
Release Date: January 11, 2018
MY RATING: 5 STARS
They were wrong--revenge is a dish best served hot.
They call me the Boardroom Bastard.
A bastard out for vengeance.
No one messes with Killian Thorne.
Then Rachel shows up.
She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Luscious curves. An ass I wanna smack and squeeze. No man has ever touched her the way I do, and she’s making me feel things I’ve never felt before..
But she works for my greatest enemy, and destroying him means taking her down too.
She’s ruined me for all other women. Will I ruin her too?
Killian and Rachel just about broke my heart. This book is the follow-up to Mr. Control, while I would HIGHLY recommend reading that book prior to Mr. Ruin, they are both standalones in regards to the couple's story. However, Mr. Control is a fan-freaking-tastic book, and it offers a bit of insight, and knowledge for Mr. Ruin, so I found I much preferred reading them in order. Back to Killian and Rachel. These two were on the track for destruction from the get-go. They each had their motives, and they knew, for the most part, the others' motives as well. They knew what they were getting into. What they didn't know or expect was the attraction, the connection, the fate they would play in each others lives.
Maya Hughes proved her spot on my must-read shelf during Mr. Control, but with Mr. Ruin, she surpassed some of my long-loved favorites. The heart and angst in this book blew me away. I thought I hated Killian in Mr. Control and during the first part of Mr. Ruin, but I fell so hard for that man and his feelings for Rachel, and them together. I can't recommend this book (and its predecessor) enough. Killian and Rachel will steal your heart and offer no condolences for it.
Happy Reading!
*ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
Maya Hughes has always loved romance novels. One look at her Kindle is confirmation. She started writing her first romance novel while pregnant with her third child and she hasn’t looked back. Now, her romance writing addiction has replaced her romance reading addiction.
You can find her writing on her foldable keyboard and phone anytime inspiration strikes. Her sweet and steamy stories range from rockstars to small towns and everything in between. When she’s not writing, she’s playing with her three kids, running errands or vegging on the couch with the love of her life and biggest fan, her husband.
