Scandalous is that book that gives you the bad boy you love to hate and hate to love. There were moments that flat out hated both Trent and Edie. They were too reckless with layering each other and too cavalier in with letting their weaknesses rule them. But what made sense, where the calm that I was dying for came into play was when these two let their guard down enough to allow the all-consuming need that they felt for one another come the surface. The each have their own higher than high walls but inexplicably they find a solace in one another. It doesn’t make than any less screwed up but it allowed me to connect and actually feel the passion they had burning between them. It could have been so easy to construe their relationship as just satiating a physical need. But it’s more. It’s deeper.

This book wow-ed me. The writing was excellent, the voice was unique and the story was sexy and intense. Two flawed characters like Trent and Edie shouldn’t have made sense, but perfectly woven back stories, and incredibly sweet little girl to bond over, and just the right time made everything click.
