Kristian and Aileen STOLE MY HEART and I don't even want it back! I never knew I needed Aileen's book so much until I read RAVENOUS. That book hinted at what was to come for Kristian, the mysterious and sexy producer at Quantum and Aileen, a single mother and cancer survivor. Though, those two things hardly even compare to WHO Aileen really is. Her character blew me away in this book. She took everything head-on and demanded Kristian give her exactly what they both needed. Kristian, for being so enigmatic and mysterious, was a master alpha without a submissive, and a man without his other half. He found that other half in Aileen. And he found even more joy when her children embraced him as someone they could depend on. But what floored me was how inexplicably sweet Kristian was. I had already accepted that I would fall for his wicked dirty talk and his domineering ways, but that sweetness, even if it was based on over-the-top protectiveness, just did me in.
Aileen and Kristian together make perfect sense. They're picture perfect in public and naughtily perfect behind closed doors. MS Force truly took the sexy notch a million times higher with this book. She takes the reader out of their comfort zone and plops them squarely in the mess and desire, and I couldn't help but revel in it all. Though with every story comes the hurdles, and these two had more than their fair share. Where Aileen is concerned she can't bare to be a burden. She can handle the cancer if it comes back, but she coudn't stand to saddle Kristian with a woman who may have a low life expectancy and be left with two children. And Kristian may have some of the biggest hurdles of any character in this series thus far. His story broke my heart. But they learn they're stronger together, and that each of them are stronger than they anticipated. You can't throw away a once in a lifetime love over fear.
This book made my heart so happy after delivering such passionately explosive weaved between such heartbreaking revelations. If offers the perfect blend of heart-stopping drama, soul-melting seduction, and an attention-captivating story. DELIRIOUS just became my favorite Quantum book, and I say that having had the HIGHEST of standards for this series prior to delving into Kristian and Aileen's story.
