Sydney Walker’s new job is perfect. As the live-in nanny to the most famous quarterback in the NFL and his beautiful wife, she couldn’t have it any better. Their kids are adorable. Her bosses are more than generous. Plus, there are hot football players at the house all the time. Life can’t get much better than this.
Until her life turns into an absolute nightmare. The media is abuzz with rumors that she and her boss Drew Callahan are having a torrid affair. Everyone knows the truth—except the public. So Drew’s wife Fable comes up with the perfect idea.
She creates a fake relationship between Sydney and one of the rookie players on Drew’s team. Wade Knox is forever indebted to Drew and Fable and readily agrees to the set up. Pretending to be in a romantic relationship with the hot nanny for a week—how hard can it be?
Crazy how it only takes one week for two people to fall head over heels in love…
(This mash-up new adult romance features characters from both the One Week Girlfriend series and The Rules series.)
I cannot express how much I love being back in Monica Murphy Land. Yes, there is a land, if you haven't experienced it yet, you're missing out BIG TIME! Safe Bet is everything wonderful wrapped up in a sweet, sexy read. Not only are Drew and Fable BACK, but Wade and Sydney take front and center with a story that is bound to captivate readers and have them glued to their pages.
The pure genius of how Monica Murphy weaved the link to Drew and Fable, yet gave Wade and Sydney their own unique story is wonderful. Wade is just so flipping sweet. I'm not sure he would be deserving of anyone, and I'll be honest, at first I was really hesitant of Sydney. But I quickly found that they were both a product of their upbringings and when together they found true selves, the better versions, the more developed persons they were meant to be. To watch Sydney and Wade grow together was a touching, and sometimes very sexy, thing.
I loved Safe Bet. Hands down. Need not say more. Wade and Sydney are a real deal, and I wouldn't dare bet against them. All the books in The Rules series can be read as standalones, and fans of Drew and Fable will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their return in Safe Bet. This book gave me ALL the warm fuzzies, and I can't wait for more from Ms. Murphy!
