She ran from a past that still hasn’t let her go, but her dream of becoming a lawyer is stronger than her fear of confronting that past. Embry’s sole focus is to get through law school—with the help of her best friend, Morgan—and make something of the broken girl she became. Not thinking about falling in love, being in a relationship or even entertaining the idea of romance, Embry is moving forward one day at a time.
Luke Brody is charming and sexy, and has a past of his own. He wants nothing more than to put his demons to rest and move on with his life. But, when Embry enters the picture, is he destined to repeat those same mistakes?
Blindsided by their instant attraction, neither Luke nor Embry are prepared for the feelings they’re developing. But will it all be for nothing?
Will they let their pasts destroy them, or will they risk everything to fight for their relationship when it all comes undone?
"Do you need me to explain to you how hard it is for me to be around you? How I can't think straight when you're near me? How I can't breathe when you get too close? That despite how hard it is, I find myself rationalizing all of this just to find another excuse to be near you?"
~Embry
Okay back to business. This book was simply amazing. We meet Embry at the beginning of her Law School career. She's fought her way back from an emotionally traumatizing past and is ready to knuckle down and live the future she always imagined. What she never dreamed of was a seductive, blue-eyed, sex god to enter into her life and steal her attention. Luke Brody, is everything Embry wants, and everything she thinks she doesn't need. But, they can't combat the chemistry that explodes when they're together. I've read/seen a magnetic attraction before... but Embry and Luke together could melt the biggest iceberg in 2 seconds flat. They draw lines though, so she can focus on school. And they spend every other waking moment together being sickeningly adorable. So all's well and good... until it's absolutely NOT.
"I came here to get away from you. I had no idea you'd be here. I just wanted one night without having to think about you... about us. But then you walked in, and I couldn't stay away. I can never stay away."
~Luke
R.E. Hunter will blindside you again and again in this book. You will have a wonderful, fuzzy feeling and then she'll rip your fantasy world apart with her words. And then she'll make nice and offer you really hot scene or a sweet moment but, what you don't see is that evil grin on her face. To say Undone was a wild ride, is an understatement. This was one of those books where it took me really high on the emotional level on to let me hit rock bottom. Over and over. But it was SO good. I know I'm twisted. In all truthfulness this was a fantastically written, and well developed story that I can't wait to buy in paperback and have it sit prettily on my shelf (Yes, those are the golden words, you know this one is a winner). These characters will have you blubbering, squealing, frowning and smiling. You will be kept at the edge of your seat until you fall right off. I have to applaud Ms. Hunter for such an incredible debut novel and thank Schmexy Girl Book Blog for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour. This is one of the greats of New Adult right now and I suggest you all get those twitchy fingers clicking!
Happy Reading!
