My Rating: 4 Stars
They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.
So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.
I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.
She hates me.
I don’t even know she exists.
She loves them. I love them.
And they love me.
EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance.
This book was a lot of firsts for me. There was no cheating, no menage but, it still held the story of a relationship involving 3 people. Madison is in love with two men- Stewart and Paul. Both of whom know the bare minimum about the other. However, they do not impede on each other's lives. Madison lives her day to day life with Paul, and special occasions, weekends and when need be with Stewart. It works well for everyone involved. Madison gets her physical needs satisfied but, is also deeply loved by both men in return. We also get glimpses at a seemingly disturbed, and stalker-ish, Dana. Dana, claims to love both men, and eludes to the fact that she has a history with them as well.
Wherever you think this story is going... you're wrong. Like, dead wrong. At one point, I set aside my ereader, and shouted expletives. There was no guessing where Alessandra was taking us on this wild journey but, it was a refreshing break from being able to guess most of the plots I read. In turn with this book being flabbergasting it is also unsuspectingly sweet. Between Paul and Stewart I couldn't pick a victor. While they both weren't perfect to a tee, they were flawed in a very endearing way. Their capacity for sweet and dirty tendencies made up for their flaws. Make no mistake, these men may be sweet but, they are even more hot and sexy. The chemistry between both men and Madison will send you in search of a fan. As we read and get a glimpse of Madison, Paul and Stewart's day to day lives, the suspense starts building from the frequent POV sections of Dana. And when a normal surfing outing goes terribly wrong, life as these four know it will come tumbling down. Questions will need to be answered, pasts will need to be told and decisions will need to be made. But with such a cluster of a story I couldn't see this ending well. No, I'm not going to spoil it, tell you if it ends well or not, or anything else. I'm just going to insinuate until I'm blue in the face, and make you read the book yourself. Because you should be able to fully experience this without any spoilers :D
Overall, an absolutely fantastic book. I loved the characters, and surprisingly I could see where they all came from, and understand all of their feelings. Normally, in abnormal situations like the ones in Sex. Love. Repeat I would have a hard time connecting but, the author made her characters so personable that I got them 100%. I have to say this was a refreshing book. It was unlike anything I've ever read before and it was clever, witty, sexy and everything in between. I highly recommend Alessandra Torre, in general, as an author but, this book is definitely a standout!
Happy Reading!
